Robert Johnson is important enough a figure that he deserves two song of the day posts for his birthday. I had a rare evening off last night and spent all night working on open G tuning delta blues guitar. One of the songs I worked on was this Robert Johnson classic – his version of the Rollin’ & Tumblin’ motif. We’ve been playing it for a long time in The Fattenin’ Frogs but when I took over guitar on it, I played a simplified version. Last night I dug in and tried to work through the specific licks used by Robert Johnson.
